Wyld

Wyld is a fintech x lifestyle startup aimed at reimagining card-based user experiences with bold aesthetics and cultural relevance. I joined the founding team early on and played a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity, digital presence, and product storytelling over a three-year journey.

Product Design

Project Overview

Young consumers don’t just want a payment card they want a status symbol.

The challenge was to create a card experience and brand ecosystem that resonated with Gen Z and Millennial users: bold, culturally fluent, and instantly shareable. Alongside that, we needed a digital experience and brand presence that could match the card’s physical cool factor.

As the Lead Product designer at Wyld, I was responsible for crafting the visual identity, product feel, and digital presence from scratch. My work spanned:

  • Branding & design systems

  • UI/UX design for the onboarding flow

  • Motion graphics and 3D visualization

  • Marketing and investor assets

  • Website art direction

For Wyld, I used the Adobe Creative Suite as my primary playground for exploring and shaping the visual language of the debit cards. I began by experimenting in Photoshop and Illustrator to develop bold graphic compositions, textures, and color treatments that felt premium, expressive, and Gen Z–forward. Illustrator helped me refine sharp forms, patterns, and layouts with precision, while Photoshop allowed me to layer lighting, depth, and material finishes to make the cards feel tangible and aspirational. Through rapid iterations, visual studies, and mockups, I translated abstract brand ideas into concrete card concepts that felt exclusive, collectible, and instantly recognizable. This process helped define not just three card designs, but the overall visual tone that carried across the product, marketing, and launch assets.

Outcome

Wyld grew from an early idea into a nationally recognized fintech brand. The company went on to appear on Shark Tank, secured investor backing, and scaled to serve millions of users. The card designs, brand system, and digital presence helped position Wyld as more than a payment product, it became something people wanted to show, share, and identify with.

Being part of Wyld from the beginning allowed me to see how thoughtful design can directly influence growth, visibility, and trust. From shaping the first card concepts to supporting launch and expansion, my work helped create a product that stood out in a crowded market and resonated with a new generation of users.

This project showed me how design decisions when grounded in culture and user behavior can play a meaningful role in building a real, funded, and widely adopted product.
